About the Journal

The Journal of Traditional and Folk Practices (JTFP) is a peer-reviewed, open access academic journal published biannually by the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI), under the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Government of Kerala, India. Established in 2013, the journal is dedicated to the advancement of scholarly research on traditional knowledge systems and their relevance in contemporary science.

The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, and case studies that explore the scientific, cultural, and interdisciplinary dimensions of traditional and folk practices, with particular emphasis on health, nutrition, medicine, and sustainable development. It serves as a platform for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to contribute to the documentation, validation, and dissemination of indigenous knowledge.

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. The journal follows an open access policy, providing immediate and unrestricted access to its content, and does not levy any submission charges. Articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to ensure persistent accessibility and citation tracking.
